Cuando dejé la banda, más de un año, estábamos en un parón indefinido. No hubo drama o la ira que participan, y los otros chicos fueron muy comprensivos. Ellos apoyan a mi hacer lo que me hace feliz y que va en ambos sentidos.
Para decirlo simplemente, mi interés por la música me han llevado en una dirección diferente. Al reincorporarse, y en todo mi tiempo en la banda, yo estaba muy entusiasmados por explorar las posibilidades musicales inherentes a una banda de rock, y hacerlo con las personas en particular. Un par de años, empecé a sentir que la misma emoción de nuevo, pero esta vez se trataba de hacer un tipo diferente de música, solo, y de ser mi propio ingeniero.
Me encanta la banda y lo que hicimos. Yo entiendo y el valor que mi trabajo con ellos significa mucho para mucha gente
, pero tengo que seguir mis intereses. Para mí, el arte nunca ha sido algo hecho por un sentido del deber. Es algo que hago porque es realmente divertido, emocionante e interesante. En los últimos 12 años, he cambiado como persona y como artista, a tal grado que seguir trabajando a lo largo de las líneas que hice con la banda sería ir en contra de mi propia naturaleza. No hubo más remedio que participan en esta decisión. Simplemente tienen que ser lo que soy, y tienen que hacer lo que debo hacer.
